Team: Detroit Red Wings
Jud has come a long way since the days of old when it comes to Sega Hockey. One of the Original Four Founders of Segathon, Jud was once the easy game for the majority of players. Along with Pat, Jud repeatedly took beatings at the hands of the other 2 founders Andy and Blair.
Even after Lewis vaulted to the top in the late 1990’s, Jud still wound up in the losers bracket more times than not. It was time for a change. He went on a 7 month sabbatical to Ireland and there he found his one-timer touch. He took the belt from Blair in the summer of 2002, and has ranked in the top 4 for 3 consecutive years. The bottom line is nobody on God’s green earth can play with his team Detroit better than him. He knows them inside and out. A truly offensive minded player, you will be no match for his Federov-Yzerman one-timer….just as long as he stays out of the penalty box.
In one of the most talked about championship matches ever, Jud took the belt back from Lewis amidst controversy in 2005. Coming from the loser’s bracket, Jud was down 4-2 after one period when Andy tripped on the cord…halting play. The game was started over and Jud went on to win 10-2 and then 9-3 to claim the belt.
Not all roses however for Jud as he had to forfeit his playoff game at the Segathon 2006 after one of the most outlandish and pathetic displays of drunken mental breakdown occurred. But do not be deceived, this 2 time Champion has been down before and will always be in contention.
